zero tolerance or zero intelligence?  not sure which.... so two days ago, while leaving school.  i was running into my friends car and pushing it around the parking lot with my car.  so my friend grabs an air gun out of a friend's car and shoots my car twice.  i speed away and then turn around and come back and talk with my friend that shot at my car.  well it so happened that a teacher noticed this and told the school that my friend was "pointing a gun at people and people were running away and diving behind cars" well first of all the person "running away" was a girl that was conditioning for track.... and no one else was around or diving behind cars.  turns out my friend is suspended for 10 days with a consideration for expulsion... he is not allowed to go on the senior trip and this could effectively make him fail his PSEO class because he won't be able to attend class.  now someone explain this to me.... yes having a tory gun on school property is probably not a great idea.... but that is the only bad thing he did... no one was involved that didn't know what was going on.... no one could've been hurt..... so  he is punished. yes some sort of punishment is necessary but this punishment is probably goign to cost his family hundreds of dollars.... and what exactly is the point of this punishment.... all he is gonig to learn is that the system is fucked up and unfair and make him hate school and the people there even more..... but apparently the school is required to give out a suspension if someone has a firearm (even though this wasn't)  as i was told the policy is put in place for two reasons 1. deter people from bringing guns to school (yes now the person that is going to shoot up the school will not because he knows he is going to get a suspension) 2. free the school from liability because they can say they had a policy..... god forbid administrators actually think about situations and apply punishment as it is do..... no no no we can't have them thinking..... we have to have a policy so they do as little thinking as possible.    also i was told the teacher that reported my friend was just doing his job ..... well ya know what he makes me feel really safe for a number of reasons 1.  apparently he though it was a real gun and didn't call the cops (which implies he actually didn't think it was a real gun and leads to my second point) 2. he was just being a jackass and getting kids in trouble when they were causing no harm instead of talking with them about what they were doing.  and schools wonder why kids shoot up schools..... they are unreasonable, often time jackass, and make the whole experience pretty god damn unpleasant, yes my friends should've been punished, yes it was a stupid decision, but seriously the whole point of punishments is to teach a lesson, what is the lesson being learned here?  our administrators are a bunch of fucks.
